Welcome to Newell Lodge, an
Equine Ranch Resort!
Newell Lodge is an equine
facility situated in rural South Georgia
approximately eight miles
north of Folkston. If you’re looking for simpler times when
things were no more complicated than enjoying the morning
sunrise or watching an evening sunset, then Newell Lodge is
for you. You’ll have the time to grasp the beauty of nature
while horseback riding along a country road. For a little
adventure, join us on a trail ride or help us move a small
herd of cattle from pasture to pasture. You may prefer a
buggy ride or learn to ride while you visit. After a “long
day on the trail”, head back to the Lodge for a relaxing
massage, a game of horse shoes, or just enjoy the fellowship
with family and friends on the gazebo while watching the sun
set on a perfect day.
You may wish to try your luck fishing in our
pond or schedule a guided fishing trip in the St. Marys
River or Okefenokee Swamp. There’s nothing better than a
meal of fresh fish, grits, hushpuppies and sweet tea,
prepared in your cabin or our outdoor kitchen and cook shed.
Or visit other area
attractions within driving distance of Folkston.
Other are
attractions are in close proximity to Folkston. The nearest
major airport is located in Jacksonville, Florida only 45
minutes from Folkston. Other points of interests are
Cumberland Island, Barrier Island (45 minutes), Okefenokee
Swamp (20 minutes), Kings Bay Submarine Base and Aircrafts
Museum (30 minutes) and Fort Clinch ( Civil War) located in
Fernandina Beach, Florida (45 minutes).
